Do I have to be a former United for Literacy staff member or volunteer to join?
Not at all! While many of our ambassadors are former volunteers, staff, learners, interns, Labourer-Teachers, or camp counsellors, anyone who is passionate about literacy and our mission is welcome to join.
Are there any incentives for being a Literacy Ambassador?
Absolutely! Literacy Ambassadors get access to exclusive events, early updates, professional development opportunities, and a private Facebook group. Plus, you’ll be part of a growing network of like-minded changemakers.
How do I access the private Facebook group?
Once you’ve signed up and been confirmed as a Literacy Ambassador, we’ll send you a personal invitation to join our private Facebook group.
What do Literacy Ambassadors actually do?
Ambassadors help spread the word about United for Literacy in their communities and networks. You can share our stories, attend events, contribute to awareness campaigns, or simply talk about why literacy matters to you.
Do I need to commit a certain number of hours?
No, this is a flexible role, and you can be as involved as your schedule allows. Whether it’s sharing a post once a month or volunteering for a special event, every bit counts.
