Programs Available in South Quebec

Our ongoing and seasonal programs across southern and urban Quebec are designed to integrate seamlessly into existing community structures. We offer flexible, self-paced programming during the school year, while our community and municipal day camp partnerships triple during the summer months to keep children reading.

We work closely with over 50 community partners across Montreal, Sherbrooke, and Quebec City, including social housing groups, workplaces, and schools. In the summer, we expand across Montreal and the Eastern Townships to support over 70 day camps and municipalities with specialized staff training and literacy integration.

Programs Available in Nunavik and Northern Communities

United for Literacy has been supporting Inuit communities in Northern Quebec for over a decade. Built on foundational relationships with Inuit institutions, our year-round and seasonal initiatives focus on educational equity, local employment, and delivering culturally responsive learning resources designed directly alongside northern partners.

Each year, our programs in Nunavik reach 300 Inuit teens with math and literacy support, engage 500 children in Summer Literacy Camps, and train 50 locally hired animators. We also distribute 1,000 multilingual literacy kits in partnership with ESUMA, the Kativik Regional Government, Makivvik, and Kativik Ilisarniliriniq.

Our programming proudly serves the 14 communities of Nunavik through close collaboration with local leadership and organizations. We focus on academic success and family literacy by providing targeted tutoring to high school students in math and other critical subjects, while also engaging younger children through dynamic summer literacy camps. To support home learning and preserve cultural connection, we distribute specialized Unikkausiit Uummatut literacy kits to hundreds of families across the region annually.
